Led by the Burgess Hill Marching Youth with music playing, banners waving, and smiles all around, the parade kicks off from the primary school and makes its joyful journey to the village green, marking the grand opening of Wivelsfield Village Day 2025!  Join us along the route or gather on the green to welcome the parade in true community spirit as we launch a day full of fun, food, laughter, and local pride!

Ahead lies a fantastic day of fun for all ages: stalls, games, live music, delicious food, and plenty of surprises.

Formed in 1986, the Burgess Hill Marching Youth (BHMY) is a proudly independent, traditional-style youth marching band. Based in Burgess Hill, the band draws its talented members from the town itself and neighbouring villages and towns.

Made up predominantly of children and young people, BHMY is supported by a dedicated team of adult instructors. Together, they bring energy, discipline, and musical flair to every performance — delighting audiences with their vibrant uniforms, polished routines, and spirited sound.

We’re thrilled to welcome BHMY to Wivelsfield Village Day 2025 — please give them a big round of applause as they march onto the village green!

Calling all four-legged friends! Join us on the village green for this year’s Wivelsfield Village Day Dog Show — a paws-itively delightful event for dogs of all shapes, sizes, and talents.

Whether your pooch is a seasoned show dog or just loves a good tail wag, there’s a class for everyone! Categories include:

The much-loved Donkey Derby is back at Wivelsfield Village Day — and this year, contestants can either bring their own creatively crafted donkey heads or use the ones supplied on the day!

Whether you’re an expert artisan or just up for some silly fun, decorating your donkey head is all part of the excitement. Then, don your donkey head and race to the finish line for glory, giggles, and great prizes!

As the day's festivities begin to wind down, don’t miss one of our most anticipated moments — the Raffle Draw, followed immediately by the Prize Giving Ceremony.

Our raffle features an exciting selection of prizes generously donated by local businesses and community members. From gift hampers and restaurant vouchers to unique local experiences, there's something for everyone! Make sure to grab your raffle tickets throughout the day from our dedicated stall — and hold onto them tight!

Following the raffle, we’ll be celebrating the achievements of the day with our prize giving ceremony, where winners of various competitions and games will be announced and awarded. Whether it's the best fancy dress, tug of war champions, or the top entries in the village bake-off, it’s a great chance to cheer on our local stars.

After an exciting day filled with music, entertainment, stalls, games, and community spirit, we’ll wrap things up with our raffle draw and prize giving ceremony at the Main Arena — the perfect way to bring the day to a celebratory close.

We kindly ask all visitors, stallholders, and participants to begin packing down promptly after the closing announcements.
